Healthy Eating For Kids

If you've got kids, they're likely the most important people in your life. Which is completely natural. Feeding your kids healthy food that they’ll actually want to eat is important. But by no means as easy as it should be.

Almost every kid in the country is a fussy eater. They tend to prefer sweet, sugary foods to healthier options like fruit and vegetables.

So how can you get your kids to eat healthy food and enjoy it? And of course making certain that there are sufficient hours in the day to be able to carry out your duties as a parent.

You need to make sure your offer your kids variety in their food. Otherwise you run the risk that they'll either get bored. Or, even worse, that they'll only eat two or three trusted recipes.

After all, it's not your fault that you haven't got more hours in the day!

The internet has made the search for new healthy eating recipes easier. Ideally, you're looking for real-life recipes that have been tried and tested on the age group you're dealing with.

Sometimes your kids will flat out refuse to eat their greens. If that's the case, hunt down a batch of recipes that will help get these ingredients past even the fussiest eater. Often you can use your blender to cut vegetables up really small, so that even the fussiest eater won't be able to pick out the pieces. Or you can experiment with different mixtures of foods. If your kids turn their noses up at cabbage and sprouts, think about using some kind of sauce to mask the flavor. This doesn't have to be laden with cream - there are plenty of different alternatives that you can use.

Or you could invent some odd sounding name like "Ants on a log". Kids are always on a voyage of discovery. Which means that if you pique their imagination with a name, you're on the way to getting them to try the recipe at least once. It's definitely worth a try!
